BOOK HAUL #3

Big Haul

I am back with a new Book Haul . It has been a while but here are the books I bought last month. Some are new and the others are used.

-I finally got my first book of Stephen king ''IT'' [it is a new copy]
-The second book is ''Safe Haven'' by Nicholas Spark. I already read the book but I wanted my  own physical copy [it is used and I had to have it the minute I saw it]

- I talked before about my absession over bookmarks. I got a whole patch of'em . These are 30 different vintage european style bookmarks. I relly need to stop with this but I doubt it.

- ''Scarlet'' and ''Cress'' by Marissa Meyer
Since I read Cinder and I loved it [ check the review I wrote about it] I had to have ''Scarlet'' and ''Cress''. They are both new copies. There is only one bumper, that is Cress is a different edition from Cinder and Scarlet and so it is different in size -bookworm problem.

- ''Shopaholic and Baby'' by Sophie Kinsella
- ''Wuthering Heights'' by Emily Bronte
I am excited to read both books especially Wuthering Heights

-''Eragon'' by Christofer Paolini
-''Ella Enchanted'' by Gail Carson
I didn't know that Eragon and Ella Enchanted are originally books when I saw the movies. It was a long time ago, I loved the movies and I really want to read the original stories [kind of nostalgic]

That's it for this Haul. Ihope you liked it. THANK YOU

BOOK RECOMMENDATION #2

CLICK ON THE LINKS UNDER EACH BOOK TO READ THE RELATED REVIEWS

1.Scorched by Jennifer L.Armentrout

It is an adult novel.
a girl using alcohol to deal with her problems or actually to run from them ... you would think at first that she is an alcoholic rich junkie but there is more to her then the drinking .. much deeper issues .
I am a huge fan of Jennifer L,Armentrout work and I have to say that this is the very first contemporary novel I loved. It captured me enough to not wanting to let it go. You better go in blind without knowing much about the storyline , lots of surprises ahead.

2.Red Queen and Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

red queen review

I didn't write a review on Glass Sword because there is no way I can write about it without spoiling the first book for those who haven't read it yet. All I  can say that it is the perfect sequel for one of my absolute favorite books ever RED QUEEN. I am itching to read the third book .

3.Tales Of Beedle The Bard by J.k. Rowling

Still didn't write a review on this book but hey it is Harry Potter related so no review needed .
Give it a go Potterheads

4.Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

rebel belle review

5.Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

BOOK REVIEW

CINDER
by Marissa Meyer

OK Let's go ahead and jump right into this because I've been putting it off for quiet sometime.

I don't know what the hell made me procastinate reading ''CINDER'' for so long. The book was on my TBR list forever.

I finally read it and I LOVED it. I mean come on hats down for Marissa Meyer for this, fairytale retelling and a cyborg cinderella ???? NAILED IT

Cinder is a mechanic and half cyborg. She is poorly treated by her stepmother and stepsister. The other stepsister loves her.

One day the prince of Beijing, where the story takes place, visits Cinder's booth and asks her to fix his android and the fairy tale begins with him falling for her, typical, without knowing she is a cyborg.

However a plague breaks in and Cinder's sister gets infected. From there things start to get complicated . From that point Lunars appear in the picture and let me tell you this , their queen Levana is an awfully disturbing character.

Marissa Meyer did a hell of a job on her character . Levana actually gave me nightmares because I would read right before I go to bed and TADAAA there is it Levana creeping into my dreams and twisting them . Just like that I decided to not finish the book at night LOL.

Moving on. The plot is really intriguing and well done , a true page turner. The characters develop wonderfully especially Cinder. She grows and rebels , steps in the shoes of a protector , victim , hero , outcast etc.. Besides I think that choosing Beijing for the story to take place in is impeccable.

I have to stop myself now or I will start blabbing about the story line and most probably spoil t for you . So I leave you with this hoping that you like it and enjoy the book when you decide to pick it up.

That's it for this review , thank you and see you next time . bye

BOOK TAG #3

THE RAPID FIRE BOOK TAG

Here we are again with a new book tag

I saw this tag on youtube and thought why not do it. Let's get on with it.

1. Ebooks or Physical books?

I read a lot of ebooks before and I find them helpful and practical but the physical books hold a special place in my heart and I will always prefer them. I like having a physical copy of every book I read. I love how they smell , how they feel etc...

2.Hardbacks or Soft covers?

I will go soft covers because I find them easier to deal with and I like their bendiness. However I tend to buy hardbacks sometimes when the cover is prettier or th one I like only available on a hardback version.

3.Online or Bookstores?

Mostly I buy my books online just because there aren't bookstores around where I live but I certainly love bookstores and I feel delighted when roaming in a bookstore

4.Heroes or Villains?

I am an old fashioned heroes lover. I sympathize with good characters and it frustrates me when the end is not in their favor. But it also depends on the writer style a lot and how he puts it.

5.Used books or New books?

Both are just fine with me. I buy used books when I tend to save up some money and it makes me happy but new books make me happier (just like when other people are happy when shopping for new clothes or make up)

6.Characters or Plot?

Again this really depends on the author but both are important to make a good book. But if I have to pick it would be the characters . I love seeing how a character develops an make actions , how different characters reat to eachother and basically good characters make a better plot.

7.Borrow or buy?

Certainly buy. I like having my own copy whether a physical copy or an ebook. I dont feel comfortable reading a borrowed book.

8.Trilogies or series?

I read trilogies and series and I love spending more time in a given world especially if I really like it. That is definitely up to the author to make a good series or trilogy .. good enaugh to make a reader eager for more after every chapter.

That is it for this tag . I hope you guys like it.

Book Haul  #2

So today I recieved my order from Amazon
I bought 4 books a couple of days ago and here they are

First off "Cruel Crown" by Victoria Aveyard
It is a prequel telling some past events about the story of "Red Queen" and "Glass Sword" told by 2 inside characters
I'm currently reading Glass Sword the sequel to Red Queen ( I wrote a review about the latter) and I'm obsessed right now with the story and the world so I just had to order this prequel as soon as I saw it (call me a freak)

Then, there is "The Shadow Queen" by C.J.Redwine. All I know about this book that it is some kind of a retelling of Snow White.
I'm in love with the cover ( yes, I love good covers and tend to buy books by the cover ,and the summary on the back for sure, don't judge me). This book is on the top of my TBR list.

"Cinder" by Marissa Meyer and "The 5th Wave" by Rick Yancey will be the first alien books to read in a long time after The Host. I decided to buy the first books in the series and see how I like them instead of getting all the books (plus that would be a lot and  I like buying books but I can't do it if I am broke) .

That's it for today's Haul. I hope you guys like it. See you next time.

Book Review

LIFE AND DEATH

by Stephenie Meyer

Life And Death was released on the 10th anniversary of Twilight series and as said on the title, it is twilight story reimagined.

Basically, it is twilight but still a whole new book. Bella is a boy and Edward is a girl. All genders are reversed so it is a ''what if'' version of Twilight.

If you guys do not know, Twilight series is definitely one of my very favorites.
However, it was a bit wierd for me and slightly uncomfortabl, let me explain.
I really liked the idea of knowing what if things happened this way and what if the end was different.
But from the very beginning the name ''Beau'' or ''Beaufort'' instead of Bella wasn't easy to digest along with other names. I didn't have much problem with the name ''Edythe'' as replacement for Edward beacause the character was strong and convincing and I liked her and her attitude , she was a good female Edward.

Besides, Twilight series is my most reread books and I couldn't help comparing characters ans actions especially that most scenes in Life and Death and Twilight are similar.

The character of ''Beau'' didn't convince me and I kept comparing it to Bella's. It just felt weaker and it made it hard for me to disassociate the actions and dialogues from the original characters . But hey that is just my feeling.

All in all, I was really happy with the book, actually I was nearly flipping when I heard about it, and I got it ASAP. Do not get confused guys I have very mixed feelings about the whole thing.

It was a fun read and I was delighted to be back to Twilight world one more time.
I had lots of what ifs before and the book basically answered most of them and that pleased me.

That is all for now. I hope you enjoyed it and we will meet again next time around.

Book Review

BRANDED

by Abi Ketner and Missy Kaliciki

AAAHHH Branded Branded where to start ....

So, Branded is the first book of A Sinners series by Abi Ketner and Missy Klicicki. It is a dystopian story about a futuristic society that is ruled by the commander and divided into the upper class ,the poor and the sinners.

The sinners are criminals, murderers and even innocent people who've been branded with one of the 7 deadly sins. The sins are : Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride and each sin has a color. The sinners are sent to the hole, it is like a concentration camp but way worse as itis filled with death and disease.

The main character here Lexi has been accused with the sin of Lust , shockingly by her mother, ad gets sent to the hole.Throughout the book, we follow Lexi's  struggle to survive inside the hole and the shape her relation with her assigned guard Cole, who is strikingly handsome by the way UHHHMM and with morals unlike all the others.

This book has been on my top favorites for so long. I experienced all kinds of feelings while reading it , happiness , love , fear , anticipation , shock , disgust ..etc.. Some scenes are cringe worthy, others are tear breakers and that only means that the story is so perfectly written.

I am still waiting to encounter a book this amazing again. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it again and I kept nagging on a couple of my dearest friends , they will know themselves when they see this,  to read it until they did and we fangirled about it together.

Now I recommand this amazing work of art to you guys. You will never regret reading it for sure. The second book of the series is already released and it is so good too. I will review it really soon. Hurry up and read them before the third book is out.

This is a wrap on this review . Thank you for clicking on the post.See you next time with another great read.

Book Review

CURSED

                                   by Jennifer L.Armentrout

This book is about Amber , she is a high school student who got in an accident with her family. She died , but her gifted little sister brought her back to life. Since then she considered herself cursed as anything she barely touches dies instantly. Her bare touch sucks the life out of living things and people.

After that Amber and her sister are collected by some stranger who claims to train gifted people like them to control and impove their powers. There she meets Hayden , another strong charming and talented male with a striking personality, and an innocent lovely romance is born.

I loved the plot and the characters , they develop beautifully throughout the book. Jennifer did a great job creating Amber's character as we were able to see a typical teen in a vulnerable state trying to cope with responsabilities and loss.

I think it would've made a good series as many questions were left unanswered.
Cursed was a quick and fun read. I enjoyed it and it held my interest easily even though it was a bit predictable. It is the second stand alone book I read and I absolutely loved it. Jennifer L.Armentrout is a really talented author and I intend to read all of her books. Besides , the cover is really beautiful I fell in love from the first sight and the summary on the back is well written.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

All the books mentioned in this blog are on my favorite list so there is not any order here. Enjoy. I will put links to each book

1. If you like books with witches or did not read one before then ''HEXED'' by Michelle krys. The book is really great . It is about a girl who discovers that she is a witch on her 16th birthday. The second book ''CHARMED'' is even better.

2. Intense feelings , sacrifice , courage  and love are not enough to describe ''BRANDED'' by Ketner and Kalicicki this book made me cry like a baby all night. the action kicks in from the very first page. It is just amazing. The second book ''HUNTED'' in the series is also great but the first one is the best for me.

3. With ''CURSED'' I delightfully discovered the amazing author Jennifer L.Armentrout and her beautiful writing style. The book was so catching that I couldn't put it down for a whole night. Armentrout is an artist.

The next 3 series are an obsession for me and if you still haven't then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ??

4.''TWILIGHT'' by Stephenie Meyer .. like duh . It was the first series I read and it holds a special place in my heart.

5.''DIVERGENT'' by Veronica Roth. The whole series is amazing although I felt a slow pace in the second book but still it was very good. The ending is mind blowing.

6. I do want to think there still are people who did not read this series or at least watched the movies beacause it is really something else: that is the ''HARRY POTTER'' series by JK Rowling. The books are for sure better than the movies so grab it ASAP.

That is it for this fisrt recommendation. I hope you liked the books mentioned. If you know or read any of them tell me and lets talk about them. See you next time.

Book Review RED QUEEN by Victoria Aveyard

Wow , No , What , How , Come on, Naaahh, AHA I knew IT , Holy cooow , no way noooo waaayyy , are you kidding me people , now thats stupid

You know if I keep writing my reactions throughout the book this blog post will not do the job.

My mind is blown right now because of this book and I feel it is going to stay that way until I get my hands on the second book and read it. This book really amazed me.
The story presents Mare Barrow who is a Red living in the Stilts. The Red community is the working class. They are poor , impoverished and for the Silvers, they are nobody. On the other hand , the Silvers are the royalty, the nobles , the highest class. Their silver blood makes them special by having supernatural abilities while the reds do not have any and so they are better , they are the Gods and Lords that the reds have to serve.
By some means Mare comes to work for the royal family and by accident she discovers that she has some sort of ability , which is unheard of and makes her one of a kind, and her life turns upside down.
For the first 50 pages or so it was just the layout of the scenes, the characters and the society in general, normally I would be like umm meh during this phase but this time I was not. It is intriguing . You want to know who is that and why that is happening etc...
Then BAM!!!!!  the action starts and after that the pace is quick and delightful. there is a confusing sort of love triangle that takes you aback sometimes but it is a good romance. This is one of few books that the plot twist surprises me. I never saw it coming and it is frustrating. The twist just hits you in the face from nowhere that you are like NO NO NOOO !!!!!!HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE????!!!!!!
That is very clever of Victoria Aveyard. Also the character development is really amazing and so well done. You can see the characters grow and change throughout the story revealing different aspects of their personalities. Another thing confused me in this book is that you can not possibly know who to trust. The loyalties change and the betrayal is crazy.
That is it for today's blog I hope you enjoyed it and I did not spoil you a lot. See you next time . Byyyyyeeee

This book is one of a kind , give it to Victoria everyone, I truly enjoyed it and by enjoyed it I mean I tensed , grinned , laughed , clenched my teeth ... etc. That was amazing. I can not wait to read the second book.

BOOK TAG #3
The Tunisian Bookish Tag

This tag was created by the lovely Amal Bedhyefi a tunisian booktuber and she tagged me to do it , so here we go

1.when did you start reading and what made love to read?

I started reading about 5 years ago maybe a bit more .. but then my reading pace was slow and I was just discovering my passion. What dragged me into reading was my love for english and twilight. Wel before that I read the first 2 books of Harry Potter in french but then I saw the first movie of twilight and decided to read he series and OMG I loved it . So basically after that I never quit reading.

2.Best book you ever read and changed your life.

I do not have one favorite book and I cannot say that a certain book changed my life because I learn something from every book I read and all that change me in a way. But my top 2 would be BRANDED by Abi Ketner and Missy Kalicicki and THE POWER OF FIVE by Anthony Horowitz

3.Your favorite author

Not a particular author but I love the writing style of Jennifer L.Armentrout and I am willing to read all of her books. I would love to read another book by JK Rowling. To be honest there are a lot of authors who rock with their writing style but I do not pick a book based on the author but more based on the reviews I hear or the summary on the back.

4.Worst book you read

I do not have an answer for this one because I didnt hate any book I read before. It is simple for me because I do not pick books randomly . I look for reviews , hear opnions and I do not get caught in the hype over a book.

5.Favorite booktuber

American booktubers were the ones to introduce me to booktubing. My favorites are Sasha from Bookutopia and Christine from PolandbananansBOOKSHowever the growth of tunisian booktuber  community is really heartwarming and I am really happy about it.

6.Have you ever read books by tunisian authors ?

Unfortunately I did not. Mainly beacause I do not live in Tunisia so I do not really have a chance to get them and a bit beacuse I do not read much in arabic or french (I hardly ever do. A shame). But I really plan on getting a couple when I go back home soon.

7.How many books do you have on your bookshelves?

A bit over 200 books. I lost count lately. But I still have a really long list so the number is going up soon because I am saving to buy a whole bunch of books.

8.A book you want to read so badly?

To be honest I cannot wait to read all the books on my to read list but there is book I am waiting for with agony that is the third book of the Sinners series by Abi ketner abd Missy kaliciki . It is called Liberated and there no release date yet. The first 2 books were so good and I cannot wait for the third one.

9.What are you currently reading?

For now  am reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I talked about it a bit in my latest book haul. Check it out . So far I am loving it.

So this is it for the tag I hope ou enjoyed it. see you in the next blog. Be on the look.

Tag #2

"Would you rather .." book tag

1. Would you rather only read series or stand alones? . Definitely series because I get more time with the characters (although I suffer emotionally and physically while waiting for sequels to come out)

2. Would you rather read only male authors or female authors?. About 90% of my favorite books are written by female authors (don't get me wrong , I don't have anything against male authors. It just happened to be that way.)

3. Would you rather shop from book stores or amazon? . I am a very good costumer when it comes to buying books from amazon. It is just that all the books I want are available and they are nicely priced , but I do love book stores and I love wondering around in them. So I think we have a tie here

4. Books become movies or tv shows? . Hmmm... I'm not sure about this . There are some good book adaptations in movies . But maybe with tv shows there is space for more details of the book... But there is also a risk that the story is ruined in both cases .hmmmm details details

5. Would you rather read 5 pages a day or 5 books a week? . 5 books a week DUH!!!! Even though it is not possible for me anymore with the stuff I have going on I'll be lucky to read one book a week *sigh* what a shame

6. Would you rather be a professional reviewer or author?. A professional reviewer for sure. First, because I am not sure if I will write a book in the future. Plus, I have fun reading books and reviewing them . So a reviewer for me ( at least for now)

7. Would you rather read your favorite 20 books over and over or always reading new books? . This is a piece of cake . New books always and forever of course ( It's dump even to ask ) I don't reread books and even if I do it happens rarely. And there are too many books to read and so little time so better use it in taking new adventures with new books

8. Would you rather be a librarian or a book seller ?. This is a hard one because it is a double win. In both cases there are books books everywhere and the smell of books and the shelves and OMG all the beauty you get get from books. However with book seller I will probably get to have books as soon as they come out or even a bit before so that's an advantage for sure.

9. Would you rather read only your favorite genre or read all other genres except your favorite?. I would say all other genres but my favorite because if IRead only one genre I will eventually get bored of it. So I would rather have more choices.

10. Physical books or ebooks?. Physical copies like HECK YEAH!! (Another dump question ) I like holding the book I read. I like smelling it, touching the cover and the pages and most importantly placing it on my shelf and looking at it enjoying the spot. PS I used to reab ebook but not anymore.

So that's a wrap I hope you enjoyed this tag as much as I did. See you in the next one

BOOK HAUL #1

Hello again
Today I come with a book haul.
Earlier this week I bought ERAGON by Christopher Paolini which is the first book in The Inheritance Cycle series. This book is about a boy who stumbles upon a dragon egg and before he knows it he is dragged into a world of magic and power and his destiny is changed forever.
Today I recieved 3 books I ordered from Amazon

Book 1: DON'T LOOK BACK by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This is a stand alone book that tells the story of a girl named Sam who disappeared with her friend Cassie. After that Sam reappears with a complete memory loss. The story follows her as she tries to remember as her friend is still missing.

Book 2: SCORCHED by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
This is also a stand alone book about Andrea and Tanner who have a love/hate relationship that has been going for so long. Tanner wants to love her and get to know her more but as he does it becomes clear that Andrea has a problem and her life is getting out of control.
PS: Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read all of her books

Book 3: RED QUEEN by Victoria Aveyard. This book only has a sequel GLASS SWORD ( that I entend to buy as soon as I finish the first one). Well, Mare lives in a world that is divided by blood. Those with red blood are communers and normal people and those with silver blood have supernatural abilities and form the upper class. However Mare discovers that she has abilities even though she is a red blood. That is out of norms and endagers her life.

So that's it for this haul. See you in the next one 😆

My pen moves , scratches on a piece of paper. It feels like the words are are out of control but in fact my thoughts are guiding them and my hand is following blindly. Soemtimes the script I intend to write is cristal clear in my head I can almost see it dancing infront of my eyes in the thin air. However most of the time I have no clue what I'm about to write just like now. My mind is blurry -probably lack of sleep and I'm just being foolish but Meh- and I don't have a single coherent thought but I just feel the need to write something, anything. You probably -and I'm almost positive-feel bored reading this and even think about closing the page and moving to something else but think about it for a minute, does this ever happen to you , not writing in particular but the urge you feel to do something you love. You are sitting or laying down thinking relaxing or doing stuff and BAM urgent thought crosses your mind and even it is not the right time you just have to do it , it is like hitting you in the guts. So here I am up in the middle of the night scratching some nonesense with baggy red eyes instead of resting. I should be in the middle of a weird dream right now. I guess you had enough of my silliness for now so I guess that's a wrap.
