BOOK HAUL #3

Big Haul

I am back with a new Book Haul . It has been a while but here are the books I bought last month. Some are new and the others are used.

-I finally got my first book of Stephen king ''IT'' [it is a new copy]
-The second book is ''Safe Haven'' by Nicholas Spark. I already read the book but I wanted my  own physical copy [it is used and I had to have it the minute I saw it]

- I talked before about my absession over bookmarks. I got a whole patch of'em . These are 30 different vintage european style bookmarks. I relly need to stop with this but I doubt it.

- ''Scarlet'' and ''Cress'' by Marissa Meyer
Since I read Cinder and I loved it [ check the review I wrote about it] I had to have ''Scarlet'' and ''Cress''. They are both new copies. There is only one bumper, that is Cress is a different edition from Cinder and Scarlet and so it is different in size -bookworm problem.

- ''Shopaholic and Baby'' by Sophie Kinsella
- ''Wuthering Heights'' by Emily Bronte
I am excited to read both books especially Wuthering Heights

-''Eragon'' by Christofer Paolini
-''Ella Enchanted'' by Gail Carson
I didn't know that Eragon and Ella Enchanted are originally books when I saw the movies. It was a long time ago, I loved the movies and I really want to read the original stories [kind of nostalgic]

That's it for this Haul. Ihope you liked it. THANK YOU

BOOK RECOMMENDATION #2

CLICK ON THE LINKS UNDER EACH BOOK TO READ THE RELATED REVIEWS

1.Scorched by Jennifer L.Armentrout

It is an adult novel.
a girl using alcohol to deal with her problems or actually to run from them ... you would think at first that she is an alcoholic rich junkie but there is more to her then the drinking .. much deeper issues .
I am a huge fan of Jennifer L,Armentrout work and I have to say that this is the very first contemporary novel I loved. It captured me enough to not wanting to let it go. You better go in blind without knowing much about the storyline , lots of surprises ahead.

2.Red Queen and Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

red queen review

I didn't write a review on Glass Sword because there is no way I can write about it without spoiling the first book for those who haven't read it yet. All I  can say that it is the perfect sequel for one of my absolute favorite books ever RED QUEEN. I am itching to read the third book .

3.Tales Of Beedle The Bard by J.k. Rowling

Still didn't write a review on this book but hey it is Harry Potter related so no review needed .
Give it a go Potterheads

4.Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

rebel belle review

5.Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

warm bodies review

6.Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer

7.Branded by Abi Ketner and Missy Kalicicki

BOOK REVIEW

CINDER
by Marissa Meyer

OK Let's go ahead and jump right into this because I've been putting it off for quiet sometime.

I don't know what the hell made me procastinate reading ''CINDER'' for so long. The book was on my TBR list forever.

I finally read it and I LOVED it. I mean come on hats down for Marissa Meyer for this, fairytale retelling and a cyborg cinderella ???? NAILED IT

Cinder is a mechanic and half cyborg. She is poorly treated by her stepmother and stepsister. The other stepsister loves her.

One day the prince of Beijing, where the story takes place, visits Cinder's booth and asks her to fix his android and the fairy tale begins with him falling for her, typical, without knowing she is a cyborg.

However a plague breaks in and Cinder's sister gets infected. From there things start to get complicated . From that point Lunars appear in the picture and let me tell you this , their queen Levana is an awfully disturbing character.

Marissa Meyer did a hell of a job on her character . Levana actually gave me nightmares because I would read right before I go to bed and TADAAA there is it Levana creeping into my dreams and twisting them . Just like that I decided to not finish the book at night LOL.

Moving on. The plot is really intriguing and well done , a true page turner. The characters develop wonderfully especially Cinder. She grows and rebels , steps in the shoes of a protector , victim , hero , outcast etc.. Besides I think that choosing Beijing for the story to take place in is impeccable.

I have to stop myself now or I will start blabbing about the story line and most probably spoil t for you . So I leave you with this hoping that you like it and enjoy the book when you decide to pick it up.

That's it for this review , thank you and see you next time . bye

BOOK TAG #3

THE RAPID FIRE BOOK TAG

Here we are again with a new book tag

I saw this tag on youtube and thought why not do it. Let's get on with it.

1. Ebooks or Physical books?

I read a lot of ebooks before and I find them helpful and practical but the physical books hold a special place in my heart and I will always prefer them. I like having a physical copy of every book I read. I love how they smell , how they feel etc...

2.Hardbacks or Soft covers?

I will go soft covers because I find them easier to deal with and I like their bendiness. However I tend to buy hardbacks sometimes when the cover is prettier or th one I like only available on a hardback version.

3.Online or Bookstores?

Mostly I buy my books online just because there aren't bookstores around where I live but I certainly love bookstores and I feel delighted when roaming in a bookstore

4.Heroes or Villains?

I am an old fashioned heroes lover. I sympathize with good characters and it frustrates me when the end is not in their favor. But it also depends on the writer style a lot and how he puts it.

5.Used books or New books?

Both are just fine with me. I buy used books when I tend to save up some money and it makes me happy but new books make me happier (just like when other people are happy when shopping for new clothes or make up)

6.Characters or Plot?

Again this really depends on the author but both are important to make a good book. But if I have to pick it would be the characters . I love seeing how a character develops an make actions , how different characters reat to eachother and basically good characters make a better plot.

7.Borrow or buy?

Certainly buy. I like having my own copy whether a physical copy or an ebook. I dont feel comfortable reading a borrowed book.

8.Trilogies or series?

I read trilogies and series and I love spending more time in a given world especially if I really like it. That is definitely up to the author to make a good series or trilogy .. good enaugh to make a reader eager for more after every chapter.

That is it for this tag . I hope you guys like it.

Book Haul  #2

So today I recieved my order from Amazon
I bought 4 books a couple of days ago and here they are

First off "Cruel Crown" by Victoria Aveyard
It is a prequel telling some past events about the story of "Red Queen" and "Glass Sword" told by 2 inside characters
I'm currently reading Glass Sword the sequel to Red Queen ( I wrote a review about the latter) and I'm obsessed right now with the story and the world so I just had to order this prequel as soon as I saw it (call me a freak)

Then, there is "The Shadow Queen" by C.J.Redwine. All I know about this book that it is some kind of a retelling of Snow White.
I'm in love with the cover ( yes, I love good covers and tend to buy books by the cover ,and the summary on the back for sure, don't judge me). This book is on the top of my TBR list.

"Cinder" by Marissa Meyer and "The 5th Wave" by Rick Yancey will be the first alien books to read in a long time after The Host. I decided to buy the first books in the series and see how I like them instead of getting all the books (plus that would be a lot and  I like buying books but I can't do it if I am broke) .

That's it for today's Haul. I hope you guys like it. See you next time.
